Data collection in this app

This app collects five types of data: 1) Your voluntarily entered smoking data (stored locally), 2) Advertising data through Google AdMob, 3) Error tracking data, 4) Usage analytics (Aptabase), and 5) Cloud Backup (optional). Your personal smoking data is stored exclusively locally on your device and never transmitted to external servers. However, some technical, analytics and advertising-related data is processed by third-party services as detailed in the sections below.

What data is collected:

The information collected by Sentry is primarily technical and related to the error event. This may include, but is not limited to:

• • Error or crash reports and stack traces

Note on Personal Data:

We have configured Sentry to minimize the collection of personal data. No sensitive personal information, such as your smoking entries or personal notes, is transmitted to Sentry. The collected data is pseudonymized and does not directly identify you. The data is not used for advertising or marketing purposes.

Legal basis:

The processing of this data is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) in maintaining the technical functionality and stability of the app. It is necessary to identify and resolve errors.

What data is collected:

Aptabase collects only technical and usage-related information. This may include, but is not limited to:

• • Anonymous event names (e.g. add_usage, onboarding_step_changed)
• • Timestamps and basic event properties (e.g. quantity, step name)
• • No device identifiers, cookies or long-term user identification

Note on Personal Data:

We use Aptabase in a privacy-preserving way. No sensitive data such as smoking entries, personal notes or mood content is sent. Aptabase generates anonymous identifiers only; it does not collect device IDs or fingerprints. Data is not used for advertising.

Legal basis:

The processing is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) in improving the app and understanding usage patterns. Analytics data is retained by Aptabase according to its privacy policy.

Data transmitted:

When you create a backup, your local database file is encrypted and uploaded to a private app-specific folder in your Google Drive. No other data is shared.

Google Account:

Your Google Account is used only for authentication and to access the app's backup folder. We do not access your emails or other Drive files.

Processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR), which you grant by connecting your account.

All personal smoking data is stored exclusively locally on your device. It is not transmitted to external servers or cloud services. Note that technical data for error tracking, usage analytics and advertising is processed by external services as described in their respective sections.

Storage duration

The data is stored as long as the app is installed on your device. When you uninstall the app, all data is deleted.

Right to information

You have the right to request information about the personal data we process at any time.

Right to rectification

You have the right to request the correction of incorrect or incomplete data.

Right to deletion

You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. You can achieve this by uninstalling the app.
